An exceptional gift, offered by Marie, Claire and Victor for the 60th birthday of their father, passionate about hunting in Africa. Their wish was to offer a personalized object that recalls some memories of their father's life.
An idea, a country, some anecdotes and memories as well as long exchanges allowed me to propose this creation entirely imagined for their father.
In the heart of a very elaborate scene, I made sure to slip in many details that echo memories. These are perfectly integrated into the composition, with discretion, so that they are visible only after a very careful examination of the engraving...
The bolster of this luxurious dagger, made by the 1515 workshop, is decorated with an engraving illustrating a scene rich in very personal symbols. It illustrates a magnificent acacia whose twisted branches follow the movement of some African coasts and borders, as well as Senegal.
Please note some remarkable details: leopard on the branch, branching of the acacia (and also: the trunk, the foliage...), initials, first names and birthday integrated into the drawing, screws carved with flowers of Baobab, magnificent handle in ivory of warthog...
